When Collaboration Leads the Way: Crestwood’s Model for Shared Success

At Crestwood Schools, collaboration is more than a goal—it’s a way of working that drives student success. The district stands out for its strong partnership among administrators, teachers, and paraprofessionals—each playing a vital role in creating student-centered learning environments.

This culture of collaboration thrives under the leadership of Sherry Peters, Director of Pupil Services, who not only champions the district’s efforts but also empowers others to lead. Sherry has entrusted Amanda Stanley, a special education teacher, to share the lead as a co-site coordinator for their OPEPP team. Peters has cultivated a community where she can provide district-level guidance while having others on the team drive the action planning and idea sharing around their priority goals. Together, Amanda and Sherry have built an environment rooted in trust, teamwork, and shared purpose.

OPEPP consultant Kathleen Scott praised the district’s approach, noting, “Crestwood’s team truly models what shared leadership looks like. Their co-site coordinators are facilitative encouragers who keep everyone motivated and moving towards the goals while serving as anchors that help keep everyone grounded in the district’s student-centered mission. It’s inspiring to see how this team collaborates to support students with purpose and passion.”
