Using Explicit Instruction to Teach About Money

An important element of explicit instruction is determining simple steps of a skill in a logical sequence. It is important to break down the task into smaller steps. This is referred to as a task analysis. These steps should involve concise language so that it is easily understood by the students. In the introductory scenario using explicit instruction for counting coins was introduced. Do the following activity to sequence the steps for counting coins. Although there are many ways to count money this activity focuses on grouping coins and skip counting.
