Behavior Management
(Self-Paced MODULE)
Introduction
The “Behavior Management” self paced module aims to educate paraeducators about various aspects of behavior management. It covers topics such as understanding what behavior is, its different functions, how to identify and analyze antecedents and consequences, the role of sensory systems, and different systems of behavior intervention and support. The module also provides practical strategies for increasing positive behaviors and decreasing problematic behaviors. It emphasizes the importance of understanding trauma-informed practices, collecting and analyzing data, and developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). The ultimate goal is to help paraeducators work as an active part of any behavior management team and create supportive and effective learning environments for all students.
